Dry needling

Dry needling

Targeted treatment of tense muscles

Dry needling is a treatment method for tense muscles and painful muscle knots, also known as trigger points. These points can cause localised pain, but the pain can also radiate to another part of the body.

How does dry needling work?

During the treatment, the physiotherapist inserts a thin needle briefly into the affected muscle. This may cause a brief, involuntary contraction of the muscle. After the treatment, the treated area may feel temporarily tender, and movement may sometimes feel easier at first, but may also feel more difficult initially.

With dry needling, no fluid or medication is injected. That is also where the name dry needling vandaan komt.

No two complaints or people are the same, and that is precisely what makes my work so interesting. I favour an active and goal-oriented approach. I’ll challenge you where I can and adapt the process where necessary. I won’t settle for a quick fix when there’s more that can be done.

Following a serious accident, which left me with a shattered pelvis, I received the very best care and aftercare from Rosalie. I have never met a more dedicated physiotherapist. Hats off to her.

    Rehabilitation following an accident

Rosalie is an extremely knowledgeable physiotherapist. She provided me with comprehensive support following a cruciate ligament tear. It’s clear that she really knows what she’s talking about. She’s great at challenging and motivating you with her enthusiasm (but she absolutely won’t let you do anything you’re not yet ready for).

      Cruciate ligament rehabilitation

I underwent a course of rehabilitation with Rosalie following knee surgery. Not only did she provide excellent care, but she also made for a lovely, positive and personal experience. I felt seen and heard, and she always made sure that going back to see her was a real pleasure.
